IMPORTANT INFORMATION

WARNING
- CORIMA products are designed and optimized for use by cyclists whose weight and that of their equipment do not exceed 105 KG (231.5 lbs).
- Before riding, make sure you understand how your new wheels work.
- Check the braking system.
- After a shock or impact, we strongly recommend that you have your wheels checked for your own safety and that of third parties.

Cycling is by definition a dangerous activity. To reduce the risk of serious injury, ensure your wheels are regularly and correctly serviced, and all components are correctly installed and adjusted. When riding, always wear a helmet and ensure you know and respect traffic regulations. Beware of dangers on the road and in traffic, and make sure you are familiar with the laws in the country you are in. If you ride at night, it is not enough simply to see, but also to be seen. Reflectors are insufficient and do not replace front and rear lights. High-visibility clothing is highly recommended, if not compulsory in certain countries.

TRANSPORT

We recommend that you disassemble your CORIMA wheels for transport and placed them in dedicated wheel bags to avoid damaging the components.
Do not clamp the wheels during transport or maintenance. Clamping devices such as those found on a mounting stand or bike rack can damage the finish, or even crack, crush or break the carbon fibers.

LIFESPAN, MAINTENANCE AND WEAR

The lifespan of CORIMA wheels depends on your riding frequency, intensity and conditions. Under normal use and maintenance conditions, and if not subjected to excessive impacts or strain, our wheels will continue to perform according to their technical specifications for several years beyond the contractual warranty period. Nevertheless, we recommend you replace your wheels every 40'000 km. Some components such as bearings, valves, rim tape and spokes are considered consumable parts, and as such are not covered by the contractual warranty. Spoke tension and trueness are not included in the warranty.

We recommend that you have your wheels checked annually for wear and tear by an authorized retailer or directly by CORIMA. They will assess the state of your rims and give you an indication of their reliability. The frequency of this inspection depends on the use of the product and we will be happy to advise you if you use your wheels extensively. If any part of your wheel shows signs of fatigue, it should be replaced immediately.

Components must be replaced by an authorized CORIMA retailer or in our own service center. The list of replaceable parts is available from authorized CORIMA retailers and on our website https://www.corima.com/

YOUR WHEEL WILL NOT LAST FOREVER

Wheels are not indestructible and, as with all things mechanical, every component of your wheel has a limited lifespan depending on wear, fatigue, strain, exposure and other factors. Impacts, overloading and other strain may also cause damage and lead to breakage. Some parts can be damaged by fatigue - low strain which, over time, can cause failures. Some parts simply wear out with time and use.
If your wheel is involved in an accident, if it is used in conditions for which it was not built, or if it is subject to overload, even if it does not seem excessive, do not do not ride it until you have had it inspected by a qualified professional mechanic.
If the lifespan or capacities of a component are exceeded, sudden failure may occur and could result in loss of control, serious injury or even death.

The service life of a particular part can vary depending on design, materials, use and maintenance. The lightweight components of modern wheels and bikes are designed to be durable, however they require regular inspection and service. Any cracks, scratches or discoloration, especially in areas of high stress such as the spokes, spoke nipples or in the vicinity thereof, may indicate that the lifespan of the part has been reached and that it must be immediately replaced. Any unusual noises or different "feel" when riding your bike can also be warning signs. Aggressive riding will increase the wear and strain on your wheel, and shorten its service life.

Ensure your wheel is regularly checked and serviced by a qualified professional mechanic. Your retailer is your most reliable and direct source to provide maintenance and information for your wheel. The more you ride – and the more aggressive and dynamic your riding style – the more your wheel will require professional care and service. Refer to your wheel user manual for the recommended maintenance procedures and frequency.

Continuing to ride with a damaged or broken component, such as a spoke or any other load-bearing part of your wheel, can exert extraordinary pressure on other components and cause them to wear prematurely. Components which are worn out from strain and tension can fail suddenly and catastrophically, resulting in in loss of control, serious injury or even death. If your wheel has broken or damaged components, do not ride it until all parts have been repaired or replaced by a qualified professional mechanic.

Some cyclists may experience a higher rate of breakage or failure than others, particularly male cyclists, heavier cyclists or cyclists whose riding style tends to be violent or aggressive.
Cyclists who have in the past already broken components are more likely to break them again; these cyclists are highly encouraged to opt for heavier equipment better suited to their weight or power, as well as to assess and if necessary modify or adapt their riding style. In all cases, equipment should be regularly inspected and serviced by professionals.

MAINTENANCE

It is important to regularly check and service your wheels to ensure your safety and optimise the lifespan of your product
Poorly maintained wheels and components may break or fail and potentially cause an accident, serious injury or paralysis.

IMPORTANT

Please take your wheel to your authorized CORIMA retailer after the first 500 km of use. This early service will ensure all the small adjustments to improve the safety, performance and lifespan of your new wheels are correct. Wheels must then be serviced at least once a year by an authorized CORIMA retailer. These maintenance steps are compulsory. Failure to do so, as well as unprofessional or incorrect repairs, will render the warranty null and void.
In addition to these services, we recommend you have the spoke tension and trueness regularly checked.
Any impact can cause visible or invisible damage. Although this can often be repaired in our workshops, we cannot in no case be held financially responsible. If your wheel suffer a knock or crash, it is crucial to have them checked by our technicians.

Regularly check the state and wear of your wheels and rims. Do not use your wheels if you notice any cracks in the rim and/or hub, or if the rim is dented or deformed.
We recommend you check your rim annually for wear.
CORIMA will assess the state of your rims and give you an indication of their reliability. Check tire pressure and brake function before every ride.
Grease the hub axle every 2000-3000 km, or more frequently if riding in poor weather conditions.
Use a grease that is long-lasting and resistant to oxidation in order to provide good protection against corrosion such as standard bike grease. Do not use oil as this will dilute the grease in the bearings.
Grease any outer locking nuts.
Times and mileages are given for informational purposes only and may change significantly depending on conditions and intensity of use (racing, rain, salted roads, etc.).
The list of spare parts list for your wheel can be found on our website.
Please contact an authorized CORIMA retailer to replace the wheel bearings.

Regularly check the valve, which can become clogged with liquid sealant.
Lastly, ensure you regularly check:
- the condition of your wheel (trueness, braking surface, quick-release).
- the condition of your brakes (pads, discs).
- the condition and wear of your tires/tubular tires.
- the pressure of your tires/tubular tires according to recommended pressures.
Always clean your wheel and components with soap or mild detergent and water.
Use a soft cloth. Rinse with water and dry with a cloth.
When cleaning your wheel, do not use high-pressure devices, especially when cleaning the hub, as pressurized water could enter and damage the bearings and/or parts of the rear wheel freehub.
Do not use any chemical product that could damage the epoxy resin in the composite, the coating or the stickers. Do not use acetone or abrasive products.
Store the wheel in a dry place (a damp environment is corrosive).
Do not store the wheel near a heat source.

CRASH REPLACEMENT

In the event of a shock, crash or road accident unrelated to normal wear and tear, we understand it is difficult to see your wheels broken and to have to invest in a new set. This is why CORIMA offers a crash replacement program for CORIMA wheels purchased as of June 1, 2023, and valid for 2022 and later ranges. This program allows you to purchase a new wheel, of the same model years as the damaged one and at a preferential price.

CONDITIONS

To benefit from the crash replacement program, you must register your wheel within 10 days of purchase. Take your wheel and purchase invoice to your dealer, who will process the claim with our After-Sales Service Department. This is the ONLY body authorized to approve the crash replacement claim based on the analysis of the information provided. A crash replacement claim cannot be placed more than 3 years after the date of purchase, and the discount offer will be calculated on a degressive scale according to the date of purchase. This program is reserved for the original wheel owner and cannot be transferred. To benefit from the crash replacement offer, the damaged wheel must be returned and cannot be reclaimed by the customer. Failure to return the wheel will invalidate this offer.

COVERAGE

The crash replacement program covers the whole rim. The cost of labor, wheel reconditioning and transport are at the user's expense. A wheel obtained through the crash replacement program cannot be submitted for a second claim, but is however covered by legal warranties and a lifetime warranty. A wheel obtained through the crash replacement program will be automatically registered by our services.
